Position Title: Technical Field Advisor – Mechanical    

Reports To:    Director of Technical Service

Position Summary

Provide technical support, leadership, and maintenance to Ethos Energy customers for sustained high performance of gas & steam turbine power generation outages. Provide leadership to supervision, craft labor and maintenance personnel to enhance their development in the industry. Provide advisory services for the development of gas & steam turbine maintenance practices throughout EE customer base.

Essential Job Functions
  • Provide field services to EE customers both domestic and international.
  • Take a leading role in the following areas associated with the successful operations and maintenance of gas turbine generators:
    • Participate or lead in the identification, placement and maintenance of turbine generator spare parts, general tools at the site level and specialized tools pooled for multiple plants.
    • Participate or lead in the review, selection, status reporting and organization of technical advisory letters and service bulletins.
  • Provide field services to other customers as directed by the Manager of Field Service.
  • Perform as the project manager on as needed basis for project that to not have a PM assigned.
  • Provide support developing training plans for operations and maintenance personnel.

 

 Minimum Qualifications
  • One or more of the following levels of experience with mechanical and/or instrumentation maintenance focus:
    • Ten years’ experience with turbo machinery.
    • Seven years’ experience with industrial gas & steam turbine generators.
    • Five years of experience with GE or Siemens-Westinghouse industrial gas turbine generating packages.
    • Experience with leading outages to include CIs, HGPs and major overhauls.
    • Two years of relevant experience in developing and managing complex multi-vendor projects.
  • Significant experience and achievements.
  • A good command of English, both written and oral, is required to read technical materials and for discussions with gas turbine original equipment manufacturers and vendors.
  • Must have the ability to lift equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have the ability to climb ladders.
  • Must have Passport and be able to travel internationally.
  • Technical competence (understand software, hardware, networks, etc).
  • Must have legal authority to permanently work in the U.S.

Desired Qualifications
  • One or more of the following levels of experience with mechanical and/or instrumentation maintenance focus:
    • Fifteen years’ experience with turbo machinery.
    • Fifteen years’ experience with industrial gas & steam turbine generators.
    • Ten years of experience with GE or Siemens-Westinghouse industrial gas turbine generating packages.
    • Seven years of experience with leading outages to include CIs, HGPs and major overhauls.
    • Seven years of relevant experience in developing and managing complex multi-vendor projects.
    • Preference will be given to Bi Lingual Candidates (Spanish)
  • A BS in engineering or can be offset by fifteen years of experience and achievements.
  • A strong command of English, both written and oral, is required to read technical materials and for discussions with gas turbine original equipment manufacturers, customers, and vendors.
  • Familiar with OEM Technical publications, parts manuals, and service bulletins.
  • Original equipment manufacturers specific field engineering, or direct hire training.
  • Ability to deliver timely and accurate field service reports.
